It is about $500/month for 3+ month, includes internet and a shuttle to town six times a day. About $13.50 per foot. We are here until November, but cruising around the archipelago every couple of weeks on the weekends.
Asheville and this part of the Appalachians are in a temperate rainforest (as opposed to a tropical rainforest). We get a lot of rain. Actually, if you want to get geeky about it, and I know you do, Asheville itself gets less rain than the surrounding mountains. In the city we get about 45 inches of rain a year while the mountains just a little west of here can get about 90 inches. But since Asheville is in a bowl surrounded by these mountains, our rivers are often full.
We are currently in the afternoon thunderstorm season. It’s about 4:20pm here (it’s kind of always 4:20 in Asheville) and its thundering in the distance. Lydia is not a fan.
Let me know when you’re heading our way. Love to both of you.
Thank you, Doug! You are so kind :-). I spent some time in Boone, NC. First time it was sunny for a week, next time it was raining non-stop for a week, so definitely a rainforest, lol.
I think we may stay south for a couple of years but then back stateside. Who knows?
That sounds like a lot of rain, but I never mind warm rain, and I love seeing how green it is there!
I try to time my runs for when it rains. Helps me stay cool!
Smart!
Take life in stride.! Ive always thought warm rain was pretty sexy but clothes definitely don't actually dry!
May l inquire...what's the cost of your marina? Are you there, did you rent long term? Thanks!..J

Oh my gosh, I love you two so much.

I like your attitude!
It is easy to handle rain when it’s warm, turns out :-)
