Thanks, Janice! We love the slower pace of movement, we have been doing. A chance to feel the culture and understand how people live. A little easier to find time to explore the facets of each place.

To your observation that Carenero, and perhaps Bocas Del Toro in general, are 'low-level' commercial. From the videos you've shown, the archipelago doesn't seem to have changed much since I last visited 20 years ago. A lot less than, for example, one might expect if big tour business had taken hold of it. One hopes it can remain the way it is now.

The locals who have been here awhile say that most islands on the archipelago have changed little. But Bocas Town has grown. The streets are paved and there are more restaurants, bars, and visitors. Although much fewer after the pandemic. But most people, who travel, also say the rate of change is surprisingly slow, and welcome.
